The rating list you’ve seen was the jan 2010 rating list … there has been 2 list afterwards march and july 2010 … in both lists your rating have changed … I have already sent khaled A.Hashem July 2010 rating list which included the last 2 tourneys held in feb. and in april 2010 in KCF-Qadisiya …

About the period that the system was on hold; it was only in the year 2006/07 when i was doing my masters in australia … yet when I came back I took a couple of tournaments scores from Mr.samy and did the calculation.

And finally with regards to one`s standing in a tournament …please be aware that it doesn’t affect the rating calculation …as the great rise in a rating happens only when one beats players with a high rating (around 100pts. difference) and not lose to a much weaker opponent. thats why some players were in the top 10 in KCF open yet lost around 15 rating points for poor performance against lower rated players.

Taher Al Khateeb is the player who introduced the idea of a national rating system. He first began many years ago. But then he started University which led the rating system to remain unchanged for many years. It’s only recently that we started to update the rating system. But bare in mind, it takes a lot of time and energy from the person who’s updating them. That’s why it might take a while till the rating is updated again.

I have been playing chess in Kuwait regularly for the last ten years and I always stood amoungst the top 20 players. In the Fisher tournament I got 17th position and in the lmost recent tournament I got 8th position but my rating remains 1442. I can’t understand it. Mr. Khalid Hashim and Mr. Taher Khateeb to comment please. . Khalid Khan Anwer.

Right now we switched to using swiss perfect rating calculator…
Just to expand on how the system works ill add one example here from the latest published rating change list :

Tournaments name: Sharq Nov. 2009
Players Name: BASIR COSIAN,
Players Local Rating: 1418
Players tournament Score: 5.0/8
Players Expected score: 4.0 points
Change factor K: 30 points (for each full point above expected result)
Opponents Rating average: 1416 points
Player Performed at the level of:1511 points
Players New Rating: 1448 points

Maybe if you use Swiss Sys 8 software pairing program. You can create a database file and update their chess rating. When ever you finished every tournament.
