Ramadan 2008 Report: Round 6

CONGRATULATIONS TO AHMED EMAD! He is leading the tournament. If he wins or draws today, he will win the 1st place prize. Yesterday the Fide Master ended up drawing against Kuwait’s champ, Bader Hajeri. In other news, it was surprising to see that there was 6 draws among the 23 games yesterday! Never happened before. And most people with the white pieces won thier games. Only 6 games were won with the black pieces. Anyways, here is the latest leader standings:

  • 5.5 POINTS = AHMED EMAD (if wins or draws round 7, he wins the tournament)
  • 5.0 POINTS = Bader Hajeri / Ferdinand Bugay / Edgar Benitez
  • 4.5 POINTS = Adel Amiri / Ahmad Hosni / Ferdinand Laming

  • 3.5 POINTS = Basim Zaki / Basir Cosain / Vincent Saulda / Naser Maqsed
  • 3.0 POINTS = Mohamed Qabazard / Mohamed Adel / Waled Awadi / Nizar Kanin / Eid Mohamed / Nooraldeen Mohamed / Taher Khateeb / Zayad Abdly / Bomer Bocobo / Khaled Hashem
  • 2.5 POINTS = Khaled Ibrahim / Manuel Cornelio
