There are still 3 rounds left in this tournament. The top four players are all close to each other. It still is anybodys game. Ahmmed Emad, the only player in the tournament to have a title (Fide Master), is leading the tournament with 4 points total. He is tied with Ferdinand Bugay. Tomorrow night we will see who will take the lead as Emad plays against Bugay!
Bader Hajeri, Kuwait’s top player, is only a 0.5 points behind the leaders. I am cheering for Bader becuase I want him to win 🙂 (sorry everyone else)
Anyways, do not forget that there is a game tomorrow at 9 PM. So everybody come prepared. I wish you all the very best. Here are a few pictures to keep you updated. Enjoy.
((( ~~~ If your interested, here’s a game of mine from Round 4. I am playing the Black Pieces. Waheed Hilal has the White Pieces. ~~~ )))
Waheed Hilal Vs. Khaled AlHashem
Round = 4, Table = 20 , Date = Sept 11, 2008
- e4 e5
- Nf3 Nc6
- c3!? d5 (c3!? is a weak move usually played in blitz games.)
- Bb5 dxe4
- Nxe5 Qg5!
- Nxc6? Qxb5 (Bxc6+ bxc6 Nxc6 is better for white. The black King is stuck in an open board.)
- Nd5 Qd3! (Qd3 stops all development for white. White can’t castle!)
- Ne2? Bd6 (Too Many Knight Moves!)
- Ng3? Nf6 (White Moves his knight 6 times in the opening!)
- Qe2 0-0
- b3 Re8
- Na3 Bg4
- Qe3 Nd5
- Qg5 h5! (if Nxh5, than Qe2#)

- Qh4?? Bxg3
- hxg4 Bxh4 (Sacrificing the queen to avoid mate in 1)
