Results: The 1st 3’0 Blitz Tournament

Many have entered this site to see the results from the 1st 3’0 Blitz Tournament in Kuwait. For pictures and comments and more detail about the tournament, please stand by till the next post. But for now… here are the results:

Coming in 1st place is Bader Hajeri (GOLD MEDAL). Out of a total of 16 games, he won 15!!! I can only say one thing, WOOOOW!!! He truely is the champion of kuwait.

Coming in 2nd place is Taher Alkhateeb (SILVER MEDAL). Four points behind the champion, Taher was the only one to get a win from Bader Hajeri. He got 11 wins total. Fantastic.

Coming in third place is late comer Ibrahim Shehab (BRONZE MEDAL). He missed a tie for second place by only a 1/2 point. Ouch! Getting 3rd place is still amazing.

4th place is Waleed Awadhi with a total score of 8 points.

Tied for fifth place, Naser Maqseed and Salah Agrouv each got 7.5 points.

7th place goes to Khaled Hashem with 5 points.

8th place goes to Raed Ahmadia with 4.5 points.

9th place goes to Hashem Hussain with 3 points.

3’0 Blitz-Tournament Today Only!

Tonight there is a blitz tournament! Seats are EXTREMELY LIMITED!!!

The tournament was just created this morning. So if you see this post and its too late, its not my fault. It’s Taher’s fault! He didn’t inform me in advance 🙂

Location: Galleria in Salmiya, Kuwait. (Near the Plaza and Sultan Center)

Area: Costa Cafe.

System: Double round-robin. (everybody plays everybody twice)

Time: 6:30 PM

Time Control: 3 min + 0 sec

Prizes: Valuable Chess Books

Register For The Tournament Today

Registration for the Ramadan tournament has begun. You can register as soon as you can.

Again the entrance fee is 5 KD and the time control is 90min + 30sec. There are 7-9 rounds. It begins in about a week.

A tiny Biography

Who I am: (a small biography about me)

My name is Khaled and i am 22 years old. I began to play chess professionally at my second year of university (AUK). The first tournament i joined was the AUK-chess tournament. I lost in a bad way! I was extremely sad. Mohamed Muneer, another kuwaiti chess fan won that tournament.

My first WIN: (don’t read if your not interested in what happened next)

I promised myself to win next year. I trained hard in tactics. Than next year, on the 1st round, i played against Hashem Hussain. I blundered my queen for two knights and a bishop!!! We continued to play and he fell into a trap, i ended up with two extra pieces in the endgame. The final round was against MOHAMED MUNNER! MY RIVAL!!! (ahhhhh) He won the AUK chess-championship 3 times in a row! The opening part was bad for me! I quickly got desperate, lucky for me, Mohamed blundered, i ended up winning his queen. He resigned and i won my first championship!

Sharg tournaments:

I have participated in the sharg tournament 2 years in a row. It’s an amazing experience. Any chess-lover in kuwait has to play in this tournament. It it usually in February or March.

FIDE Ranked Kuwaities:

I played Kuwait’s top player, Faisal Hamlan and he crushed me! I also met and befriended Taher Khateeb and Bader Hajeri. These three kuwaties have fide ELO’s. All are strong.

Other Chess- Friends:

Omran & Ali Moussawi, Nasser & Abdullah Maqseed, Hashem Hussain, Emmanuel, Reda, Mohamed Qabazrd, Mohamed Muneer, Bader Khaldi, Bader Hajeri, Taher Khateeb, Abdulsalam Dakheel, Khalaf Azmi, Waleed Awadhi, Lyon, Noor Aldeen, and many more.  All these people love chess like i do, maybe even more.

Final Comment:

I hope this site will continue to grow. I hope to bring information to everybody here who needs it. And i pray that Chess will be a recognized sport throughout kuwait. Thank you for reading. Be well citizens of kuwait.
