Cartoon Network Youth Chess Tournament

A few weeks ago, a small but fun tournament took place for the furture champions of chess. A total of 14 young and brave warrirors participated in the Cartoon Network Youth Chess Tournament.

The sponsors for the tournament are Cartoon Network (of Sharq Co-op) and the Kuwait Mind Sports  Association.

The main coordinator is Zeinab Al Fayad and the arbitor was the Coach, Vladimir Rogovskyi.

The event was held on September 16th till the 18th and there was a total of 9 rounds (consisting of 3 rounds/day).

The time control was 20 minutes per side and there was a total of 14 players. And the players were divided into 2 sections, one for the expierenced and another for the New players.

And without further adew, here are the winners of the event.

Group A: 1) Abdulaziz Raed Faras, 2) Bader Adel Al Amiri, and 3) Mahmoud Faraj

Group B: 1) Yousef Al Shatti, 2) Meshary Al Shatti, and 3) Omar Busheba.

And as a final word, I would like to thank the parents of the young warriors for encouraging the young to play the beautiful game of chess. And we hope everyone enjoyed the event and we hope there will be more of these tournaments soon to come. And here are a few more pictures from the event.
