The date for the 1st round is still on the 12th of November. The break day is still unconfirmed. But it should be after the 4th of 5th round.

As for the timing, the rounds begin at 6:00PM and not at 7;30PM like stated in previous posts.

So be in Sharg on Thursday, November 12th 1/2 hour earlier than 6:00PM to avoid any traffic.

Remember, if you are late more than 60 minutes, you will forfeit the game on that day.

If you forfeit 2 games due to absence and lateness (without excuses), the Supervisors have the right to disqualify you from the tournament.

One more time, the 1st round starts at 6:00Pm on Nov. 12th, 2009.

HELLO CHESS FANS OF KUWAIT!

I know everybody is excited about the upcoming tournament. This is the biggest chess-tournament that Kuwait has every year. All the best players in the country play and have a good time. Last year, we had over 90 people join this tournament. Out of the 90, Mr. Yaghshi won the tournament with a 7.0 score out of 9 rounds.The tournament is sponsored by Shiekh Dawoud Salman Al Sabah. The other sponsors are Mcdonald’s and Red Bull. So there will be free coffee, drinks, and red bull. Some people brought thier own drinks from Starbucks and other nearby cafe’s.
